My whole life I have been just trying to do all the “right” things to get a head and create a happy life for my self. I did the post secondary thing, received my Environmental Science Diploma, worked in that industry for a while (turns out it's not for me), married my best friend, traveled, changed careers to a Land Survey Technician. I have been working as a Land Surveyor for the last 6 years and I have to say it’s been pretty great in this field of work, This time last year I was on a project for my company that required me to work 72 hours a week for 6 days a week. That went on for about 3 years. Over the years, I have always wanted to provide a service for busy parents who didn’t have time to buy, organize, and arrange and set up all the decorations, supplies, food, entertainment, etc. needed for their kid’s life celebrations. However, I didn’t have the money or knowledge of how to start a business like that. After the whole covid shenanigans, I thought more and more about different ways for family’s, friends, communities, and neighbors (Bringing People Together ) to celebrate life. I also had a bit saved from working for all those hours for the last 3 years. It was finally time to take a gamble at something that I could call my own. At the beginning of this year (2024) I was doing some research and I came across a lot a websites that provide foam parties in the United States and I thought wow! this would be great way to add another layer of fun to the communities all across Metro Vancouver B.C during our warm seasons. I also loved the idea that the sky is the limit when it comes to adding this fun experience to events such as birthdays, community events, work/corporation events, summer camps, church youth group events and much more. I did all the legal steps needed to start my own company and we did not bad for our first season. I have enjoyed every step of it from creating my own company name and logo, a website, creating content, and of course providing these awesome Foam Zones my self (with the help of my husband) for my clients. The most rewarding part of this side job is when kids come up to us after the foam party and tell me that this was the best day of their life, That melts my heart. Right there, that is all worth it to me. Unfortunately this is only seasonal side gig for me but actually that works for me between my full time career. If only I lived in a hot climate that was hot enough to do this for more months of the year. You never know what the future holds. Never stop dreaming. We have more big ideas for next year!
